Be awere of the weather!

Hi,

Being in Aust. It's like one day, its sunny with temperture up to 36degrees, and one day below 20 degrees. Because of this crazy changeable weather in Melb, I've got a head cold for those last 2 weeks. Now it seems its getting a lot better but last week I was absolutely dead. I had a running nose, caugh, and dizzy head all the time. Then I realized that being healthy is the most important thing while I'm staying here. There's a tons of things I want to do here, but being gentle myself is the first thing I will do from now on.

yes!

yay finally i have a morning class!!
I really wanted to have a morning class but Ive never had a chance before!
now we can do more fun thing in the afternoon. cuz when we have afternoon class, there is not much left for us to do after 5. just go to coles or go back to home, that was all! I felt like Im wasting my time..
lets have fun together in the afternoon from now onnn!!

I hope this time we will enjoy too^ ^

See Ya!

Week Two

Hi everyone and welcome to the second week!!

On the weekend I went to Abbottsford to pick up a present for Christmas. Abbottsford is near the Yarra river and it is one of the nicest suburbs in Melbourne. I am sure that some of you may have been there before as groups from MUELC occasionally go there to row on the Yarra river. I highly recommend visiting this area when you have some free time. By the way, has anyone thought about what they would like to do for a class excursion?

It is good to see that this blog is starting to work, I especially liked Takaki's air-conditioning problems, Jamie's sad experience and Michelle's pronunciation classes.

Hello;-)

Hi everyone!!!!!!!! This is NOZOMI~;-)

I will move to new Hostfamily on Sunday!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't know that new Hostfamily is good or not;-(
So now I'm little bit nervous!!!!!!!!!!haha-

I hope they are good*******

B.B.Q.

Last Saturday, I went to Caulfield park to B.B.Q. with the classmates from this class and other classes. The weather was nice and the park was so big. We bought a lot of food and I thought we couldn't finish it, but I was wrong, we finished all the food. Amazing!

We all enjoyed the B.B.Q. but there was a flaw in the deed. It was flies. I couldn't imagine why there was so many flies in Australia. Some people were B.B.Q. and others were helping to expel flies. It was so funny!

hey buddy

Hey man, glad to know you in my English skill course. It is a pity that i am one week late, it is a pity that i lost chance to get together with you. However, it is not a problem to make us friends, right?

I think i am not used to melbourne now since i am just here for several days. The weather is so strange, it is too dry, hot in the daytime, cold in the night, heavy wind,
strong sunshine. However, i like the peaceful life here.

X mas is coming, do you get any ideas what shall we do in the holiday?
Wish you success !

a best day of Australia

it was my first birthday in Australia on 24 Nov 2007!

Last Saturday was my birthday , Sunday was my best friend- Kathy 's birthday, too. So we celebrated our birthday together on Sat. and invited our close friends to have lunch at Kathy's home.

Kathy was a busy man at that day. It was a first time that she controlled the food of the whole party, whereas, I just took charge of the cake which was bought from bakery on time . kaka~~
Our Japanese friend - Hisae was cooking the soup with Japanese style and she for Kathy as a kitchen - hand.

Actually, I made a mistake on that morning . I was support that bought the meterials and sofe-drinks and brought them to Kathy's house as earlier as I could. In order to prepare the lunch Kathy could. But, I got up lately 2 hours led to make Kathy muddle. The important thing is that I had no idea in kitchen. There was more negative effect side when I helped her. So my task was just chatting with friends and waiting the lunch time come!

Of course, we have recieved gifts and everyone enjoyed our birthday party! even we have new friends from introduced to

Weekends

What do you usually do on weekends? Going shopoing, staing at home and just having a relax time...or doing homework? Last Saturday, election day, I went to Great Ocean Road.

This time, I joined in the 1 day trip tour on my own because I made up my mind a few days before the day. Everything was abusolutely fantastic! Beautiful sea shore and view, old rain forest and many rocks were undermined by sea water. Just fabulous!

Unfortunately, I have to go back to Japan before Christmas, so that I would like to experience everything as much as I can. If you have any good ideas, please tell me!

Hello everyone

Hello everyone, this is Takaki. How are you? I`m little tired because of these days weather. Aren't they too hot? I know my home country, Japan, has similar weather. But I can use an air conditioner to be cool. However, unfortunately, my room doesn't have an air conditioner, so my room will become hot and hot. What should I do?(Maybe it is my chance to diet.)

By the way, is there anyone who like to play Golf? I like or I can say I love to play Golf, but playing lonely is little pity. If there are anyone who are interested in it, please contact me.
hi, every one. i'm new here, and i always have trouble to remember all the ID numbers and Passwords. but suddently i find that i am totally labelled by numbers, like bank card no., student ID no., cellphone no. and every number goes with a password. how can a person remember all of these? it is always beyond me.

i think i will get used to the life here in Australia, even though i miss my family so much that i would rather i stay at home at the moment. but if it is so, how can i know you guys and have so much fun?

wish everyone a good day.

TO IMPROVE YOUR PRONUNCIATION IN A NICE WAY!

Her name is Georgie, her business is called "Speechmatters". Her office is located in Collins St, so it is nice to walk there or easy to catch a tram. Sorry, I have forgotten the number of the Street! Can tell you it later if you want to!

Georgie is a great, beautiful and lovely woman. She is very dedicated to her students and has been working for a few years as a speech-pathologist. She is qualified and efficient. Indeed, I have started to study on my pronunciation last September. In less than a year my results increase a lot. Just an example about the IELTS. The first time I passed it last May I obtained 7 in speaking. The second time, last October I obtained 8. Another example, everybody who knows me has noticed how much my pronunciation is better and IT IS RIGHT.

Moreover, to study on your pronunciation will also improve your listening. Better pronunciation equal to better listening. If it works for me, it will work for you too!

Finally, Georgie is very active and organise lots of events such as dinner party, picknic. A few months ago, ABC channel came over to her office and shot many students included myself learning and studying on our pronunciation in order to make a documentary called "The Australian Accent". It was on ABC, the 8th of November at 8.30pm.

As you can see, you can improve your pronunciation in a different and nice way.

If you are interested, please feel free to send me an email and I will be very happy to give her all Georgie's details. IT IS JUST WORTH IT!

Bad experience

Hi! Everyone! Today I will share my bad experience with all of you. Two weeks ago, our class went to excursion and it was wonderful, we had potluck in South Yarra and everyone enjoyed it. After that, I went to China Town and wanted to buy some stuff in a grocery. When I was at the counter to pay the money, I couldn't find my purse and I was stunning. My purse was stolen! At this very moment, I had to calm down and I called the bank to cancel my bank card and credit card immediately. And then, I went to police station to report. I think it's the worst experience in the foreign country. So, just be careful your wallet when you hang around! Pay more attention!

New week, New class

Hello, everyone! This is Kuniko. This course is my 3rd times of ES6... Also this is my last course, and I will go back to Japan end of December. hmmm...
By the way, what should I do before going back? If u know any recommended places or things, let me know, please. I want to try lots of things last 1 month!
Anyway, nice to meet you everyone!

1day trip--bus tour

Hello,everyone. This is Kaori.
Have you ever been to Phillip Island to see lovely penguins? The other day, I and my friends joined in 1 day trip tour which operated by STA travel company. That tour included not only penguin parade but close contact with Australian wild animals such as koalas, kangaloos and emus. Also, we took dinner with other passengers and went back to city safely. We could see hungly emus, sleepy kangaloos and many groups of penguins.
If you are interested in this tour, I can give you more specific information about it. And, you have to pay just $99!

Anyway, if you have experienced any other interesting trip, please tell me about it!

These can include the topics we have covered in class, things you have discovered in Melbourne, what you did on the weekend, your plans for the future, current affairs or even questions about using English. The content here is up to you. I encourage people to log comments on other people's posts, and I will also contribute occassionally and log my own comments on your posts. Anyway, good luck and I hope this site becomes really interesting and exciting for everybody.
